I've been to the Frost Museum twice now. That yearly membership has now paid for itself. Anyway, this time around, I got a few shots I was particularly pleased with. The more familiar I get with my D3400, the easier it becomes to get good shots. Find a camera with decent ergonomics and practice, practice, practice, people! I love candid shots. But asking for a smile is OK, too.  My sister liked whatever joke I was making. American Airlines Arena, Miami skyline, and Freedom Tower on the right. Threadfin Butterflyfish Sometimes you get lucky and a clownfish sits still for you.

The Frost Science Museum in Miami is the latest addition to its growing Museum Park, which is an attempt to be as cosmopolitan as other major cities. Its original location was shut down in order to move it to its new spot in the park, and while it's a little rough around the edges still, it's nice to have it back. The highlight of the museum by far is its aquarium, from which I took most of these fotos. Some have a chrome filter applied, others do not, depending on what pleased me. I'm kind of on the fence about whether using filters is OK. I think for personal fotos, I'm fine going with whatever gives me the look I want. When taking fotos for other people (and any paid work), I either offer both filtered and unfiltered, or just unfiltered, since mimicking film stock isn't for everyone. Anyway, enjoy the fotos! Made it down to Wynwood this afternoon. For those who don't know, it's a neighborhood in Miami with a history of being a little rough around the edges, but which has gentrified pretty quickly in the last five years. By Miami standards, it's a little more cleaned up than I like to see, but friends from out of town assure me it's still fairly grimy. Anyway, rain kept me from being able to take half the fotos I wanted to take, but it's hard to walk through the area without finding something of visual interest, so I still got some decent shots. Below are my favorites from today, with chrome filter applied, and a little context in captions (when I feel they're needed). Towards the center of this foto is Atomik's distinctive smiling orange. I was lucky enough to get into an abandoned RC Cola plant in Wynwood, a neighborhood in Miami, FL. I love abandoned spaces, and this one was COVERED in graffiti. There's some really stunning work on display here. Kicking things off with a nice piece by a homegrown artist named  Golden .
